ROCARE C51
Low pH Membrane Cleaner
DESCRIPTION:
ROCARE C51 has been developed as an inorganic scale cleaner and iron deposit remover for use in Reverse Osmosis and Nano-filtration membrane systems. Used at the right concentration, its self adjusting pH ensures highest solubility of iron salts is achieved.
BENEFITS:
TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance : Clear, colourless to light yellow liquid
Odour : Characteristic Odour
pH as supplied : 3.5 ± 0.5
Specific Gravity : 1.05 ± 0.05
Water Solubility : Completely soluble
APPLICATION:
ROCARE C51 is highly effective when 1 Liter ROCARE C51 is diluted with 8 liters of water and used as a solution and alternately soaked and recycled through the membrane system for 1 -2 hours. When using ROCARE C51, the cleaning solution pH will stabilise at pH 3.7. If the pH increases above pH 4.2 during the cleaning process, the solution should be discarded and replaced with a fresh solution. It is recommended that the membranes be cleaned at 25-300C. Membrane manufacturer’s guidelines should be followed at all times.
Addition of ROCARE S91 improves cleaning performance of membrane however will result in heavy foaming.
After cleaning, ROCARE C51 cleaning solutions should be neutralized to pH 6 – 8 with an alkaline solution before discharge to waste stream. Before returning the plant to service, the membrane system should be thoroughly flushed, until the pH values of the feed and the discharge ends of the system are the same. The product water conductivity may initially be high but will revert to normal after a few hours operation.
Please use acid compatible materials for chemical tanks , pump and piping.
ROCARE C52
Low pH Membrane Cleaner
DESCRIPTION:
ROCARE C52 is an aqueous synergistic blend of cleaners, inorganic scale cleaners and iron deposit remover for use in Reverse Osmosis and Nano-filtration membrane systems.
BENEFITS:
TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance : Clear, colourless to light yellow liquid
Odor : Slight characteristic odour
pH as supplied : ≤ 2
Specific Gravity : 1.3 ± 0.05
Water Solubility : Completely soluble.
APPLICATION:
The cleaning solution should be prepared using potable water that is free of residual chlorine or other oxidizing agents. Add 2 liters of ROCARE C52 to every 50 liters of water (4% solution). Adjust the pH in the range 2 to 3. Recirculate the cleaning solution throughout the system, after redirecting the first 20% of the solution to drain. Do not exceed pressures, temperatures and flow rates recommended by the membrane manufacturer. Cleaning efficacy can be further improved by heating the cleaning solution and alternately circulating the solution for 15 minutes and then soaking the membranes for 15 minutes. This should be repeated as many times as necessary, pH range should be monitored periodically throughout the cleaning. When pH increases above the desired range, it should be adjusted by adding more ROCARE C52.

ROCARE C53
High pH Membrane Cleaner
DESCRIPTION:
ROCARE C53 is an aqueous synergistic blend of cleaners, sequestrants and organic material dissolvers for use in Reverse Osmosis and Nano-filtration membrane systems.
BENEFITS:
TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance : Clear, colourless to pale yellow liquid
Odour : Slight characteristic odour
pH as supplied : > 12
Specific Gravity : 1.15 ± 0.05
Water Solubility : Completely soluble
APPLICATION:
The cleaning solution should be prepared using potable water that is free of residual chlorine or other oxidizing agents. Add 2 liters of ROCARE C53 to every 50 liters of water (4% solution). Adjust the pH in the range 12 to 13. When pH decreases below the desired range, it should be adjusted by adding more ROCARE C53
Addition of ROCARE S91 improves cleaning performance of membrane however will result in heavy foaming.
After cleaning, ROCARE C53 cleaning solutions should be neutralized to pH 6 – 8 with an acidic solution before discharge to waste stream. Before returning the plant to service, the membrane system should be thoroughly flushed, until the pH values of the feed and the discharge ends of the system are the same. The product water conductivity may initially be high but will revert to normal after a few hours operation.
